Job Title: Project Manager (Call for talent pipeline) – UNGO Jobs
The purpose of this pipeline post is to identify ready to acquire talents for our Programme Operations Team.
The Project Manager will be the principal representative of the project and have leadership responsibility for the overall management of the award, which is primarily implemented through a local partner. S/he will provide strategic, operational and technical leadership to successful implementation of high quality, in coordination with other stakeholders. The Project Manager will ensure adherence to overall technical and programmatic quality in implementation, compliance with donor rules and regulations, and the timely submission of all deliverables, including work plans, budget forecasts, performance monitoring plans, and reports as required. The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall direction and coordination of the activities of any sub-recipient partners under the agreement in coordination with the project team.
Note: In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in project management in NGOs and/or INGOs
- Education to MBA/MSc/ level or equivalent field experience.
- Inter-personal skills to influence and guide staff and partners in identifying programming opportunities and resolving programme challenges.
- Commitment to the values and mission of Save the Children.
- Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English and Turkish, with experience in working with multicultural teams
- Demonstrated skills in program planning, and all aspects of project management.
- Demonstrated skills in leadership and supervision of staff and in building and maintaining a high performing team.
- Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically.
- Ability to adapt to different, often stressful circumstances.
- Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports.
- Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy.
- Experience in promoting children’s rights and gender, including participation in programming, design, implementation and evaluation.
- Experience of designing and managing projects with international donors is highly desired
- Preferably experience in scaling up projects with diversifying funding sources
- Preferably combined innovative and entrepreneurship skills to lead and manage a digital product lifecycle
- Strong problem solving and communication skills will be assets
- Preferably demonstrable experience engaging with national stakeholders and partners
- Preferably demonstrable experience on building capacity of local NGOs, and government bodies and collaborating closely with multi-level stakeholders.
- Preferably previous experience in development of innovative products and services that use digital technologies
Position holder will be based in Istanbul, therefore legal right to work in Turkey is necessary at the time of application.
