The Education Cannot Wait (ECW) Multi-Year Resilience Programme (MYRP) was launched in South Sudan in 2020. The programme is based on a Theory of Change that focuses on conflict-sensitive interventions that move communities from emergency to recovery and development through ensuring that children have access to quality and inclusive learning opportunities that support their transition into further levels of education while also supporting their holistic wellbeing and development.

NRC is a member of the MYRP Grantee Consortium in South Sudan and also manages a secretariat that supports the Ministry of General Education and Instruction (MoGEI) as the chair of the in country MYRP Steering Committee.

The purpose of the MYRP Secretariat Coordinator position is to implement delegated MYRP project portfolio.

As MYRP Secretariat Coordinator, you will;

Facilitate and support coordination of meetings with MoGEI
Coordinate with the MoGEI in the development of funding strategy of the MYRP
Contribute to the overall fundraising efforts and support the Ministry of Education including providing strategic guidance on proposal development
Ensure information exchange among the different functions of MYRP including the steering committee members, Grantees and any other relevant interest groups
Manage the MYRP Secretariat resources (human, material & financial)
Support capacity building of MoGEI technical staff at National, State and County level, and transfer key skills through mentoring and on-the-job training
Provide technical and administrative support to MoGEI as chair of the Steering Committee in its coordination and oversight role of the MYRP.
Facilitate linkages between the Steering Committee, concerned government agencies, local government offices, relevant committees and units within MoGEI, humanitarian and development actors, existing coordination systems at national and state levels.
Participate in donor scoping missions, evaluations, reviews and assessments as directed by the under secretary
Contribute to the dissemination of research products and other information outputs that promote the goals of objectives of MYRP.
Ensure Steering Committee decisions are communicated timely through appropriate channels to relevant stakeholders**
Support MoGEI to establish and strengthen relationships with new and existing donors.

You will have;

An Advanced Degree in International Development Studies, Education Administration, Business Administration, Management or any other relevant field
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in humanitarian/recovery programs
Experience in working in complex and volatile contexts
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation, coaching and capacity building as well as ability to work with culturally diverse teams
Excellent writing and speaking skills and ability to develop coherent viewpoints.
Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
Fluency in English, both oral and written

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience

Solid budgeting skills and understanding of working with multiple donors including UKAID, USAID, the EU and Foundations.
Experience in designing programs and resource mobilization for multi-year programs in an international environment.
Strong experience working in a partnership model and establishing and maintaining coordination and communication systems at inter-agency level
Ability to build strong coalitions and strong networks for resource mobilization.

What we offer

Type of Contract: 06 months contract

Grade: 8 according to NRC’s grading and salary scale, terms and conditions

Duty Station: Juba (Please note that Juba is non-accompanied duty station)

Travel: 20 % travel to the field
