About CDP

Founded in 2010, CDP supports equitable disaster recovery through philanthropic consulting, localized funding and expert resources.

Disaster recovery is the process of improving individual, family and community resilience after the occurrence of a disaster. Recovery is not only about the restoration of structures, systems and services – although they are critical. A successful recovery is also about addressing sources of inequitable and unjust outcomes, and individuals and families being able to rebound from their losses and sustain their physical, social, economic, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.

With a focus on medium- to long-term recovery, CDP raises awareness of the need for committed attention and localized, sustainable funding in support of marginalized and underserved communities. As the intensity and frequency of disasters has increased, the role of CDP has become even more crucial.

Responsibilities & Duties of the Grants Manager:

The Grants Manager will support Center for Disaster Philanthropy’s (CDP) internal grantmaking by administering grantmaking operations across the entire organization; ensuring appropriate structure and integrity of the grants management database; and fulfilling the information needs of the organization’s donors, leadership, staff and grantee partners.

Responsibilities

Systems Administration

· Serve as administrator and super user for CDPs grantmaking system, Blackbaud Grantmaking (BBGM), coordinating with the entire team and outside partners as necessary to address new issues or needs and work with vendor to ensure its efficiency and functionality. Follow new updates and functionalities rolled out by Blackbaud and assist team with implementation and training.

· Manage integration and use of other systems relevant to grants team needs including Raiser’s Edge NXT CRM, Dropbox, accounting system and Redbooth project management system.

· Provide technical assistance for all users of the system including staff, reviewers and grantee partners.

· Provide training (or guidance on Blackbaud University courses) for new hires and users of BBGM.

Grantmaking Processes and Management

· Facilitate links between program, finance, information technology, development and communications and other administrative functions so that all grant management activities are smoothly implemented.

· Create, revise and improve grantmaking workflow processes with fund directors and program staff.

· Work with the fund director(s) to develop or revise applications and grantee report formats to ensure data can be tracked in grants management software.

· Develop and maintain grants forms, policies and procedures (in consultation with users) and train relevant staff as necessary.

· Review grant entries in database with fund directors/associates and ensure integrity of data, compliance and completeness of grants data and files, including board decisions, activities, grant agreements, contact information, coding and other data in the database.

· Ensure compliance and assist with due diligence as needed.

· Stay abreast of new requirements, trends and best practices within the field of grants management.

Organization-wide

· Become conversant about organizational funding interests, our service offerings and our culture.**

· Support the analysis and reporting of qualitative and quantitative data about grantee partner awards, outcomes and learnings, as needed by program, marketing & communications, development, learning & partnerships, consulting and executive leadership teams.**

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

· ≥ 5 years of relevant professional experience in philanthropy, grants management and/or relevant technical expertise.

· Bachelors or equivalent experience required; Master’s or equivalent education/work experience desired.

· Experience with grants management systems and databases and experience administering Blackbaud Grantmaking (required).

· Strong willingness to work creatively to solve complex grantmaking challenges.

· Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the strong ability to create and maintain robust, user-friendly systems.

· Extremely strong attention to detail and a strong sense of personal responsibility for one’s work.

· Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

· Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
